PRINTMAKING FROM SCRATCH
Cost $200 + $20 for materials
Tutors: Ali Murray & Jo Constable
Thursdays: 10am – 1pm
6 Weeks: commencing 3rd May
A six-week introductory course of 3-hour sessions. It will be hands-on from Day 1 and students can expect to produce several prints each session. It will be responsive to students’ inclinations and different techniques may be introduced along the way. Initially it will focus on mono-printing and collagraph with drypoint. After a quick rundown on setting up the print studio and a look at examples of different papers and techniques, students will embark on the following: Monotype and stencil/Drypoint etching/Collagraph/Embellishments: Stamps, chine colle etc/Other techniques by request if time allows.

OIL/ACRYLIC PAINTING

Wednesdays: 4.30 - 7pm
Or 7pm – 9.30pm
8 Weeks commencing 2nd May
Join our fun friendly class. Tutor on hand to help you achieve your own work. Create a painting from your own photo, picture etc.

oils cheap set of oil paints, buy at the Warehouse or stationery Warehouse brushes cheap pack of bristle - assorted sizes plus soft 00 and a flat soft synthetics size 12 canvas any size linseed oil or my preference liquin
palet old white plate or $2 paper plates and paper towels or rag
turps to clean brushes and 2 small containers can be baked bean tins etc
photo or picture to copy as hard to paint from imagination
pencil and rubber
Acrylics - cheap pack acrylic paints brushes same as above everything the same except for liseed oil, liquin and turps
KREATIVE KIDS
Cost $140 (materials included)

Mondays: 3.45-5.15 pm

The children’s art classes are designed to provide a wide range of interesting, fun and creative 2D (painting and drawing) and 3D (sculpture and installation) projects for kids. Different mediums, famous artists, different cultures and a variety of styles in art. All materials supplied.
POTTERY
Cost $180 + up to $30 for materials and firing
Tutor: Anthea Grob
Tuesdays: 6.15pm – 8.15pm
9 Weeks: commencing May 1st
Thursdays: 6.15pm – 8.15pm
9 Weeks: commencing May 3rd
An introduction to making pottery making. The first two sessions will cover preparation of clay and hand-building techniques, the rest of the sessions focus on the wheel including: how to centre the clay, how to pull up the walls, shaping actions, shaping bowls, turning the foot, making glazes or slips and the final class covers glazing. Students should bring an apron and old towel with them.

Jacky Pearson - Tutor: Fortnightly Classes during school terms at the Hutt Art, 9 Myrtle Street, Lower Hutt. Watercolours - classical painting methods, step by step demonstrations and all the theory to go with it.
Each term there is a theme such as skies, tone, colour theory, still life, water and reflections, some thing for everyone. I provide all the necessary teaching aids and reference. Beginners are made very welcome. Apply to Jacky direct.
